Northwestern Business College is Chicago's first private business college, founded in 1902 to provide men and women with the specialized training necessary for a successful career in business. For over a hundred years, Northwestern Business College has been an educator of choice in the Chicagoland area, fulfilling the employment needs of the city's rapidly growing business community. Even today, we still abide by the basic principles of our founder: to help our students create a lifetime of opportunities by providing a solid, career-focused education in some of the fastest-growing professions. Northwestern Business College's history begins in 1902, when J.F. Fish had the foresight to realize that businesses would need competent, well-trained workers in the years ahead. With this vision the College opened its doors at 1747 N. Robey Street (later known as Damen Avenue), offering programs in accounting and stenography. By 1918, the College had outgrown its space and relocated to the Logan Square area of Chicago. J. F. Fish sold the College in 1930. However, his philosophy is still evident in the College today.
